Souvenirs from 1979
This mix is a collection of songs that might have been played on this Bozak mixer when it was installed by Richard Long Associates (RLA) in the legendary NYC club Inferno. This club was in Midtown and was the stomping grounds of house music legends David Morales and Roman Ricardo. I really hope some of their talent rubs off! Bozak mixers are unique because the circuit is discrete which allows way more headroom than mixers with IC chips. Also, the nature of the design puts the tape outs before the tone control, so the signal that is recorded is flat.

Wow, I bet that Bozak sounds amazing out of your hi-fi. My computer's speakers just don't do it justice. No individual EQs right? Is that an isolator I see in the picture, what do you use? How did you come across something like that, ebay?
Great mix man, that song Souvenirs is just so fucking good..

Thanks a lot! The Vestax DCR 1200 isolator belongs to a friend of mine. He is having me fix some scratchy pots. It is not in the signal path on this mix. You are right, there are no individual EQs on this mixer. The sound is actually even better than I thought it was going to be. There is so much depth to the recording and the bass is so warm. I bought it on Craigslist of all places! The pictures made it look horrible, but after some new knobs and some elbow grease, it looks near mint aside from rack rash.
Souvenirs is the most epic track. I love how it is a perfect disco track and then it has this mind blowing breakdown.

Sadly the computer Iám currently using in Costa Rica is powered by coconuts and string, otherwise I would give it a listen, great track list though.
